Data Protection in summary. The only people who can see data on this system are teaching staff in "Wah Yan College, Kowloon", old boys of the School, and agents of the School doing work commissioned by the School Authority.

Data Protection in detail. Your data is securely held on a server in the School which has in place all the security measures you would expect.

Data you enter into the WYK Old Boys Network Portal System will be treated confidentially and with respect and will be used by the School and its old boys. The data is available to appropriate school staff, and to agents contracted by the School for purposes directly related to the interests of the School and / or its alumni.

The data will not be disclosed to external organisations other than those acting as agent for the School.

If you choose to make any of your private data (email, home phone and cellphone numbers) visible to other old boys by changing your options under "My Profile" (only available logged in) then you are deemed to have consented that this data may be additionally disclosed by the School to other users of the WYK Old Boys Network Portal System, including disclosure to countries outside Hong Kong. This precise geographic definition is required because any information displayed on the Internet is regarded as having potential for disclosure outside Hong Kong, and the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance 1996 requires that you explicity consent to such a disclosure.

Terms and Conditions of Use of the Website.

1. The service is be offered free to old boys and former staff of the School, solely at the School Authority discretion and may be terminated at any time, although there is no intention to withdraw the service. The School can not be held responsible for any loss or damage due to the failure or termination of the service, although we will make reasonable efforts to let you know in advance of foreseeable service interruptions.

2. The service may be used for personal purposes only. It is not intended as a business service (eg a helpdesk or ordering e-mail address) and the School Authority reserves the right to terminate the service if substantial business use is evident.
